Hi all,
Hopefully putting the fairlane on the dyno either tomorrow or wednesday,
Just want to know is there any preparation to get the best result?
-Vpower
-Octane booster

Is there anything else to make it get a better result?

Cheers
- Ash

try vracing fuel and pull the air intake off from the throttle body. and good luck!!

don't forget to check your oil and water first.

I would just run it as you normally do on the road.....

If you run normal unleaded, just use that, if premium, use that etc etc.

There is no point looking for an artificially inflated power figure.

"Hey, I'm getting my standard motor dynoed tomorrow, so I'm installing a 100 shot of NOS, only overnight tho, so that I can crap on about how powerful my car is."

That would be wanky!

....and if you ever mod it, you won't have a proper baseline dyno result to measure gains from.

Exactly, i would leave the intake on, because your not going to drive with it off.

i drive with my intake on.. but off when racing.. before and after runs with and without the snorkel shows me a 4.7RWKW gain by taking the intake off.. and that with a 3 inch mandrel intake.. cold air induction and a tickford snorkel.. -so still pretty free flowing anyhow...

pump tryre's up to atleast 34 PSI...
check oil and coolant levels..
exhaust gasket leak/s.. = bad..

Yeah cheers guys for that,
nah im not looking for anything artificial, but things like new oil, clean coolant, good fuel...just those little things that make the car run the way it should...

Fit aftermarket ecu with a custom tune, bigger cam, some headwork, run the air-con pipes straight into the throttle body for ultra cold induction, coke bottle full of pure alcohol piped to the intake with a hand pump

Some preparation wouldnt go astray either, like a few reptitions of arm weights, couple 140kg bench presses and push ups, go for a jog at 6am in the morning, and no women 24 hours before the dyno run

get the person who is dynoing it to do a standard run the get him to advanced the timing about 5 degrees and then watch the torque come on heaps quicker on the graph. The car will feel heaps more snappier on the throttle aswell
