hi

with the e series especially the 6 cyls known to have overheating problems what has everyone done to completely fix that problem so the cooling systems are better and never even think about runing hot in warmer weather and towing??

what thickness radiator (theres 26mm std 2 row, 32mm heavier 2 row and 38mm 3 row you can buy)??

what temperature thermostat do yous use and is it highflow ?

what temperatures do yous have your fans come and off at?

and where do yous put your aftermarket temperature gauge sensors if yous have aftermarket gauges?

do yous have factory ef/el twin fans or 2 aftermarket ones with a aluminium shroud over whole radiator or still belt fan if ea to ed?

Where should temp gauge read which normal letter and how do you keep it at bottom of normal even on hot days

could everyone please list exactly what radiator and thermostats yous have got and whatever else yous have done

thanks so much

Stock rad. Stock thermostat. Never over heats. Never gets above "a" on the guage. Even after a night solid on the dyno.

On my EA, I've got a stock radiator, thermostat and EL thermofans. It sits a few mm above the first bar during normal driving and goes up to half way under load.

For the EA-ED Falcons, the thermo fan conversion is definitely worthwhile along with the AU MLS head gasket. Also, a good quality coolant is essential (not the coloured water you buy from Super Cheap).

Going up to Brisbane one year & loaded up with luggage & family (before fitting thermo fans), I missed the turnoff to the coast in northern NSW and continued inland. It was a 40+ deg day and I had to slow to 40-50 kmh to stop it boiling. Those mongel hills on the New England Hwy, south of Tenterfield, are at 45 degrees and seem to go for ever.
