I'll gladly take you up on your offer of an a*** raping at under 5000rpm. I know just the place, if you can get there.

I know a place, it's called forestry road, it will be a 18km race, and i'll even bring a diesel that only revs to 4000rpm

I was thinking Prado hill but I like your style. His car would be pretty much destroyed after being lead on an 18km goose chase off road.

It will be built to take that, only only go that far IF it makes power there. good luck with that, i'd just be stepping the blower drive up and not revving it that high but whatever.

He's not a tosser. Nor a d***head. Nor is he full of s**t. Not only isn't he American (I sense a defamation suit coming on) but he is truly worth while listening to.
My mates EA does 9,000 RPM on the way to the shops driven by his wife in first gear every morning. And it puts out 300kw at the rear right wheel, but only 10kw on the left. |

Actually, reading the title of this, if you only produce 160rwkW @ 7500 rpm, I think there's somthing not right, A ford 4.0 I6 with some mods should do that at around 48-5200 anyway.
The best comment here (and I couldn't be bothered finding it to quote) was you don't need revs to produce power. Someone went spastic and took it literally, but a more defined version could be this. You don't need HIGH REVS to produce the most power. Look at one of those black top 4cyl motors, (hiroshima screamer is the nickname I believe) they rev to redonkulous levels...but can be still matched flywheel power wise by a motor that dosnt have to rev as much. There's no substitute for cubic inches....

Yeah, it only really applies untill forced induction is mentioned.....but N/A wise...it's correct I reckon.

Hi everyone
Getting back to engine talk I'm going to fully balance and use BA rods and Pistons in my EL motor to get the slightly better rod/stroke ratio and choice of forged pistons I think the EF full counter weight crank is the best for revs, but will compromise with the EL lighter, less counter weighted crank. Smaller main journals less circumference, less bearing speed, friction. I think the Au has bigger journals and rigid bottom end to contain a lighter less counter weighted crank to keep harmonics in check, What do you think |

Bore 92.26 and stroke 99.31. Compression is Barra, 10.3:1, AU, 9.65:1 and stock EF/EL 9.3:1 (XR was 9.35:1) Better compression due to the head. Better spinning crank is the AU, better balanced, larger journals. Better combination would be, AU Bottom end with F6 Rods and BA/BF NA Pistons. Good solid motor. |
