Yeah, stripping or crossthreading spark plugs = bad = possible new head
Either do one at a time, or mark the leads to there respective cylinders.

Okay, I'm not going to touch the plugs as you guys mentioned head gasket in the same sentence, lol.
But here are some pictures I took just now, hopefully will help. Only reduced to 800x600 to keep detail, so be aware. First is the airbox with some moisture on top. Note I did not spill oil on it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/till_lind/airbox.jpg Next is the hose like thing that comes from the airbox, did not spill oil on that either. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/till_lind/airbox2.jpg Here is my leaky (by the looks of things) injector, could she be doing those marks on the airbox bits? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/till_lind/injector.jpg And now here are the two terminals, I have no idea how to tell if they are fudged or not, so check 'em out. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/ ... minal2.jpg[/url] http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/till_lind/terminal1.jpg Thanks a bunch.

I think you should get yourself a workshop manual. Very usefull for understanding about cars.
I don't know what the moisture is. It's probabily not fuel since it would evaporate pretty fast. Could be pointing to a broken weather seal letting water in and contributing to your problem. Anyway when it does it what does it feel like. Is it a rapid intermittant loss of power? Like the engine goes Barrr, barrmp, bramp, pop, brummmm. -This points to an ignition problem Or does it just sort of cut out all together and pushing the throttle doesn't make it respond. -This points to a fuel problem Or does the engine just vibrate a bit and loose power. -This points to one of the above only occouring on one or two cylinders.

I do have a Gregory's manual, but I haven't made much use of it.
Ummm, as always hard to describe the problem. It is not intermittant, so that's one knocked out. It does not cut out all together, the power is still there, but it's almost "stuck". Sorry eh, but very hard to describe. If anyone in Brisbane wants to come for a drive, let me know, lol.

Here's a video, you MAY be able to hear where the problem is, and you can sometimes see it (front of car slightly dips). 11.5meg

I didn't say head 'gasket'. I said 'Head' We were only telling you the 'worst case' scenario. If you can screw a nut onto a bolt without crossthreading it, you can check your plugs. You just can't ram 'em in there, and tighten 'em as hard as you can If you really aren't confident, get a mate who is, and ask him to show you how to do it. Hell, if you're mechanic's a good bloke, he probably wouldn't mind if you looked over his shoulder when he checks the plugs. Like Spork said, a workshop manual will come in handy. It's very worth it to get confident doing little things like checking plugs and such. Can not only save you money on mechanics, but it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling when you fix a problem yourself

Hey guys, just bringing this thread back to let you know what the problem was so that those that have the same problem in the future now what it is likely to be.
Anyway, took it in today, we had gone for a drive the day before (mechanic and I) and today they diagnosed the problem ($45). Got onto the phone to me while I was wandering around Moss St to tell me they think it's the leads. They replace the leads, problem solved ($180 all up, incl. that $45). Some of you may remember that I said my car kind of got stuck at 120km/h too, this problem is now fixed too, so both obviously were related. Now when he said leads I thought he meant the ones that go to the battery, but I opened the hood and it's those "leads" that go to the left side of the engine. They any good btw? So seeing as they are leads, what are these things that lead to the battery? lol. newbness.
