hi just wondering what the service life on the timing chain is i don't know if it has been replaced in the past 150k km on the clock
i have heard on this forum the the guilds go first if the happens is the car driverable my old lades away so i can borrow her car allowing me some time to do a big service just wondering if its worth doing the chain or checking it or just waiting for a guild to break and changing it the next weekend ( need the car to get to work 66 k a day but don't wont to spend any money i don't have to as i work in construction and could get sacked any day now ) |

They outlive the engine.
There's no need to replace them at 100,000k intervals like ALL Belt setups. Guides can break, and in most cases doesn't do any damage.
