can anyone let me know if AU rocker assembly can be fitted to pre au heads if an AU cam is use

The rocker arms used on AU's are the same as those used on post Feb 98 model EL's.

From what i head the only thing different on a hybrid head is the rocker gear and cam, so yes. Not sure about springs though..

Valve springs are different style, but still able to be used without being compromised.

Hybrid and AU were conical springs E series up to hybrid were standard style springs.

Thanks guys, the reason i ask my housemate just bought an AU it doesn't have that horrid annoying low tech lifter noise the pre au's have. Was thinking Au rocker gear would give better sounding valve train please correct me if im wrong.

I know AU's had different shaped valve springs and 2 piece valves, i might need a complete AU head to get rid of the bad sounding valve train noise

Get new lifters and service your car, will get rid of it.
