haha downingj u realise his motor is a BA Motor :P there pretty fukn good!

Gaz its also a pretty heavy car aswell and with the standard stall and slug auto pulling off the line its still a great time. Put his motor in my car and ill be running a low 14 garunteed. lol

Hyena - like i said, respect to you guys i am definately not bagging you!

Yeah I'm fully aware of how awesome the DOHC 4.0 litre motor is and in no way am I bagging it... :? It was a compliment. I love FNP's car and the power it pumps out considering his minor mods...

s**t, I'd pay 6 grand for someone to professionally install and tune a package that will give my I6 180rkw and a 14.0 - 14.3 ! Good price IMO.

Still, if it's BFYB that you're after, look no further than Tickford_6. He's kicking a** for very little money!

be interesting to see what sort of time this setup gets me though.
i want to put a few more kms on the engine first and wire the MSD back up.
once thas done i'll dyno it again to see where the msd make a difference then it'll be out on the strip again

yeah 14.3 is good.,.. and 6 grand is alot too.. but its reliable its smooth and always good on fuel.. but i hear you all.. 6 grand is alot for only a 14.3 run. but its a inliine 6 if it was a v8 ide say thats sad and i would have bagged myself for it.. but for the 6 without turbo or charger.. i was happy.. and to freak alot of p platers with there vn vp n all those holden v8's with an exhaust chip and cAm they and couldnt keep up with me. they all where pretty p****d off.. even to piss off a new ba xr6t or even xr8 or ss with a el xr6 racing them and keeping up with or going past them of beating them by only a little.. still made me feel great.. haha
20 years ago we had a 186 red holden motor in a hr sedan 12.9=13 in a 1\4 and 7 years ago a L82 STOCK CORVETTE STINGRAY 12.9 WITH CARBYS NEW PROJECT 440 CHEV IN CAPRI SHELL 8.2 1\4S

whoever asked what dyno got the reading, it was APC. The main two things slowing down my car are the a*** weight and the 3.08 diff (yay for 100 out of first). My 60' times are crap, if I could get them down even slightly it would make a pretty decent difference in trap speed.

you got 174.7rwkw and ran a 14.4 still .1 of a second behind mine but had 11.7rwkw more.. how does that really work?? maybe i got more power to the ground i dunno..

Well it comes down to dyno's being largely a wank
It's the old story, they're a good tuning tool and fairly reliable if you're comparing the cars and/or mods on the same dyno on the same day but otherwise there can be alot of variation between them. JMM's dyno is known for reading on the high side but hey you've got pieces of paper that say 180rwkw and a 14.3 so that's pretty good :)

As I've said elsewhere a few times before that 14.4 run was on crappy 185 width burnout tyres so I couldn't launch without wheelspin so I'm confident that .1 of a second difference would be gone with decent tyres. To further complicate calculations, I've never pulled over 155rwkw on a dyno dynamics dyno - oh noes!1 :P
You can roughly guess what quarter you'll pull from a dyno figure (based on others with simlar cars) but I wouldn't spend too much time scratching your head over 5-10 kw and 1-2 tenths of a second! :)

eed-250 yeah I know you're not bagging - I'm agreeing with you about what you have to spend to get what :)

yeah sounds liek that .1 of a second could be lost with good tyres... but i also ran on 17x8inch tyres that where 100% dead had no tread on them.. but then again could easy get grip with... i think the differance would be something like weather also.. if the air is crisp the car will run harder cause the air is cold and burns faster witht he fuel (so im told) but still with my el i always ran mid 14's only been once i got a 14.3. i ran a 14.8 once but i missed 3rd so that sorta f**k me up.. i was just glad that i neva got over 14seconds.. if i did hit a 15 that car was going (either my fault or not)hahahha either way a stock el with exhaust and air intake maybe even a ecu can run a good 14.8 maybe 14.9 and still be under the 15 second mark.. but as we have all said.. its stil an inline 6.. and thats still good with no mods or turbo. well i think so anyway

Altho without the Nos on the old motor my best was 15.8 N/A

14.7 but i reckon i could have got a 14.6 easy.. Running the most i can on the standard engine managment system (which is bugger all)
