Cheap 1/2 tonne endless chain strung off some supportive member of your shed? you wont lift it... Me and struggled to move a 4cyl out of a camry... so 6cyl with two guys would be back breaking...

oh bugger... thats what I've always used for getting them in and out of cars... Otherwise its a case of head down to super cheap auto and invest in an engine stand

never used one... I don't know how high they go? Otherwise you really need some sort of vertical hoist like an overhead gantry and an endless chain... or some sort of backsaver (small vehicle mounted crane)...

Found someone to do the install, one of my mates mates is a ford mechanic, said he would do it for a couple hundred bucks.
So this conversion is definitly happening!! woo Just to clarify, as this is out of an (EL) Ute, the ECU and Loom will match up ok? |

Yeah should be a straight swap... Everything should already line up... ECU should plug straight in... Should be fairly straight forward... EL gear into EL car... no hassles... Its when you look at AU or EF stuff into EL you start running into differences...

There is a steel pipe that runs from the water pump all the way round the back of the motor and back up the intake side that feeds the heater system and acts as a bypass when thermostat is closed... Any way these steel pipes often rust out esp if inhibitor isn't maintained... Highly reccommend changing this as they are next to impossible when in the car... Other than that just check for any leaks on the front of it like crank case seal and if they leak change then as its hard in the car... Timing case is too hard, requires the head to be removed... Just double check plastic tee's and other vacuum hoses and fittings for beaks or holes or things that have come off that can result in painful hours of replacing and finding...
Maybe new water pump wouldn't hurt? Thats about it from me...

hey guys just letten ya now you can do the timing cover withe the head on just gotta take out all the sump bolts except the back 2 just looson a few turns let the sump hang down and you can get the cover off i have done this many times and for the price of a rear main, front crank seal you would just do it while its out very easy to r and r

to do the sump gasket the easiest way is to drop the k-frame but let it hang of the ball joints and struts but you need a gaurd girdle which sits on the inner lip of the gaurd in the engine bay both sides and has a chain and hook with a thread so that you can pull up the engine to take the wate then undo enine mount bolts but if your doing it on the ground a engine lift or watever you make up will do the job
