ok, i just got a quote from repco for a full set of king superlows and a full set of monroe sealed gas sensatrac struts...the price is $376.12.
should i go for it?
i dont know what the rrp is on all of this but i work for a company called Ashdown which is owned by repco so i have a discount card.
i wont have any install fees as i have a spring compressor and all the other necessary tools out in the shed.
good price or not?

nar i had 15's with my superlows and the 17's are almost the same rolling circumference.
we use archerfield ashdowns quite often.

That price sounds good. I paid $350 just to get the back of my EB done (Dobinson springs and shocks + labour). One of the guys at work paid $1100 to get his EL lowered, I think that was using Monroe parts.

you'll be disapointed if you use the monroe shocks

save a bit more money and buy some better ones

agreed. Monroe's and king springs aren't really the best combination. I've tried numerous suspension setups in my car, not by choice - (thanks vic police) and the best IMO for looks/ride quality is super low king springs with Pedders sports ryder struts in the front and comfort gas shocks in the rear. The pedders struts have a lower spring land which makes the car sit lower in the front but still retain some suspension travel. with the monroes you won't have much travel left with super lows and the ride will be bumpy.

BTW, cost price on king springs is 75+tax a set. that price you got it pretty good. from memory cost on monroe gt gas struts was 115 bux each and about 100 bux for a pair of rear shocks. but that was ages ago.

That is a huge discount. I dunno what parts they've quoted you on. But I got Tim (rapier) some Monroe GT shockies (the Sensatracs are more exxy) and King Spring lows and I think they cost him $400 or $500, and that was my employee price. Each front strut was like $100.00, each spring set was $90 - $100, and the rear shockies were about $100.00. Repco made only enough profit to cover transport costs...

Monroe sensatracs are not designed to work on lowered vehicles. The sensatrac shock has crooves in the bore at the standard ride height to give the soft ride. Using them with superlows will stroke through the piston through the grooved part mid corner making the car feel funny.

I believe most people don't know this and why they say sensatracs suck on lowered vehicles. I have never used them.

There's a seperate set for the lowered cars. Not sure if there for super low or just low though. But when I was looking today, the front struts for an EF XR6 wagonn (which is lower than a standard EF wagon) are a different part number to the standard EF wagon - for Monroe Sensatracs and GT Premiums.
But you may be right that they will be unhappy to run on super low height
