Time for a coolant change on the EB auto. The bottom radiator hose looks hard to get to surrounded by the transmission lines but my Max Ellery manual mentions a drain plug on the side of the radiator. Cant find it from above so it seems I'll have to get myself underneath and remove the stone tray to have a look. Which side is this plug on and is it any easier to get to or more effective than the struggle with the lower hose? Also is it necessary to use the bleeder on the thermostat when refilling?

drain plug is on the drivers side about 1 inch from from side tank. Use a phillips head srew driver to undo it.

Not all radiators have drain plugs. If you don't find it just remove the bottom hose.
There is no bleeder on falcons. The small hose on the top of the thermostat housing and one on the radiator, both return to the header tank. These hoses are there to allow any air to return to the header tank. To remove any air form system. Once cooling system has been refilled, start engine, turn heater to full. Run engine with radiator cap off until thermostat has opened. You will know thermostat has opened when the header tank has hot coolant in it. Top up any coolant loss, and replace radiator cap.

I'd recommend removing the hose as that cheap radiator plug fell apart for me, now the plug is half stuck in the radiator and very difficult to get out.
Atleast when u remove the hose u can see exactly what ure doing.

uh yea i broke my plug too
 ,,,use a socket insted of a phillips screwdriver cos it can chew away at the plug.
