Hey guys, was just cleaning the new ticky kit I got and found:
Doesn't say ford on the key or anything. Is this just a random find that was put there? |

Looks to me like an E or early AU1 spare key. Prev owner most likely forgot they hid it there, most likely for their 2nd car.

However, doing this may void any insurance claim if your car is broken into or stolen. A better practice is to keep the spare in your wallet.. as 99 percent of the time you will have either your keys or wallet with you.

Better to get your balls pierced and hang a spare key off the ringlet. Yes it jingles, but it gets chicks looking at your crouch and if your married you can ask the Mrs to grab the spare

I have never seen the point in leaving a spare in a safe place. Be it a spare car key on the car or a house key in a pot/ under a mat. Its just like taking a knife to a fight, dont do it unless your prepared for it to be possibly used against you.

I've left a spare key around like that for years.
I also had no key on my cortina with remote entry so I had a hiden pull wire to release the door manually if the battery went flat. It is an old and great idea, and when placed in a position only you know about, then its as secure as a car without a key hidden. Seriously if someones going to climb under your car and look for a zip tied key to steal a midrange car then they deserve it. and for someone to demand your 'hidden key' so they can use it against you..... lol.

What anyone who has 3 brain cells would have realized is what I was saying is that by putting a spare key in a safe place you increase your chances of it being stolen purely because its there. You have just told everyone on this site about your hidden key, you have even said you used a zip tie. Anyone on here who knows you or your car for any reason now knows you have a hidden spare. If anyone on here tells someone who tells someone you might be in trouble. Also even some random t*** who's searching the net will always see your post and if they are smart and a crook all they have to do is search your pic's and posts and put 2 and 2 together..... Not so funny now hey |

that's true T-man
The thing is as the other guy who said he keeps his key with a zip tie he could be some kind of physio which may have a sensor light sensor triggered into his bedroom to alert him only you never know he could be a crazy person and do unthinkable things lol |
