Having trouble to get my car to do a burnout. The engine is EL XR6 with a RPD stg 3 cam, hi-flow intake, JMM headers hi-flow cat 2.5 sports exhaust,
rebuilt auto with 2000rpm stally and shift kit, 3.45 LSD, 205 15in tyres.
It should be able to spin heaps easy but just sits on the stall speed, no matter on road surface (dry, wet slight spin on dirt) its really sh**ting me.
Could it be the rear brakes locking on or something in the auto?

I have always suspected it was the auto but the rebuild should have fixed any problems because I got some goodies added whilst it was apart

Pump your tyes up to 40psi, shouldn't be a problem then. They will balloon and only have a small contact patch with the road.

You shouldn't have a problem, my car (EL Ghia with XR6 engine and LSD 3.45) STOCK (except 2.5 exhuast) can light them up off the line, no brakes with 205 tyres and at any speed under 70km/hr in the wet (at 36PSI)

But I cant guess what would be the problem :(

no matter what tyres with that power and 205's she should get em frying easy there has to be power being lost in the trans or stally unless you have the hand brake on there really isn't any other explenation,
could try putting hose clamps on the rear brake lines then try and see how that goes but is a dangerous affair so do it somewhere safe.

maybe you just lost torque down low, between 1000- 3500rpm for your stally to be any use, considering the other mods.
cam, is it mid to high rpm?
JMM headers, is it mid to high rpm?
cat/exhaust, is it mid to high rpm?
trans rebuild, low line pressure for run in purposes mayby?

does it feel bogged down when the hits the pedal of the lights?

id say its just the power band of the cam, lost a bit of low down torque but hopefully gaining top end...
