If you buy a rebuild kit from jmm all he is going to do is buy one from somewhere else and charge you for his efforts.

Get an ACL race series rebuild kit (its your only option if your looking for a performance rebuild kit). Just about any auto parts store will order one in for you but retail price tends to be expensive. Your best bet is to ask whoever is doing your machining to order the parts to suit. That way you will be sure you get the right oversized parts and if he is nice he will give you trade price (or close to it).

I went to a local performance engine shop and they acquired the parts for me more cheaply than the local parts shops and they did the machine work for me too. They sold me some 'hypertec' pistons that have been great. I was going to balance them, but the piston, ring and rod assemblies ended up being within 1 gram of each other (from the factory).

I'd have to say that I wouldn't bother with it again though and would just get the engine shop to do it all. I don't think it will cost a lot more and will save a lot of mucking around and having to acquire tools you may not already have, like engine cranes, ring compressors, inside & outside micrometers, etc. + endless trips to pick up & drop off parts.

I 'd recommend a few phone calls to shop around for prices.
