Could someone advise on below (no one has yet to give the precise answers)
Question: (1) What is the difference between Red and Green coloured coolants? (2) What is the difference between Type A and Type B coolants?

red is usually a longer life coolant ( 5 years instead of 4)
In terms of cooling, both will do the same job, its just the red one has more additives to last longer.. |

so obviously you haven't seen the 'yellow' coolant ? prestone makes it i think.
the yellow will mix with the green OR red, the red won't mix with the green, the green wont mix with the red ! just to confuse you lol i'm fairly sure that the red coolant looses it's colour when it's 'life' expires which is why its more expensive and yes i think it also has more longivity additives. i once knew the difference between the a and the b but i can't remember now so not so helpful. that yellow coolant is pretty awsome though if you like glycol. i ran it in my ea and i dunno if you've ever torn a big lump off skin off down to the white flesh and seen the blood cauli flower out in fine bubbles but thats what my radiator hoses looked like, it would leech through phukin anything ! the thing to remember is that coolant and antifreeze/antiboil are very different, and unless you live in the snow i actually recommend not using the antifreeze/boil. the glycol actually reduces the mixes ability to transfer heat making for higher running temp (about 5-10 degrees during everyday driving) so it's actually more of a hindrance than anything. use glycol free inhibitors.any car in an ordinary australian climate should be fine running on pure water, you just need an additive that stops it from going yucky. 'redline water wetter' is an awsome product with alot research n history behind it. http://www.redlineoil.com/products_coolant.asp

i heard the ford red coolant is to corrosive and they no longer use it...
apparently ford started using it in the el hybrids and series 1 au's but went back to the green in the au'2.. |

i had a thermostat housing around (that old i can't even remember where it came from) but i used it for my bbm conversion, and i noticed that the inside was eaten away to the degree that when tapped it even sounded wafer thin. ultimately i ended up snapping it into 3 pieces torquing the bolts up. it just threw me how clean it looked, usually you see corrosion you see the bi-products like sludge and or rust etc. not sure on the ph of coolant but i'm guessing it's pretty high.
my bf has green coolant i was wondering if it was factory. i also wonder why the only gave me one thermo fan instead of the two they have used for over 10 years. i had a single 16'' on my ea and it did the job well, but i thought the idea of the second one was more for air con ? i love going off on tangents... lol
