Sounds to me like it might be running a tad rich on idle, my XF used to do the same thing, sounded good I think :)

Yeah, could be that too.
Adjust your idle and see how that works.
Mine changes the note when the idle gets tampered with.

Might have to turn the volume up a little, but listen right at the start, does yours sound anything like that at all on idle?

Mine was a redback system too, but with extractors as well, and obviously a 4.1 alloy head carby crossflow and not a 4.0 EFI overhead cam, but still.

some times my car wont idle right, when ya start the car the revs go up like norm. then go down like norm but then the revs start to struggle and it goes from 500rpm to 700rpm (i thinks that the right rpm) then stalls.

could that have something to do with it?

Yeah sorta sounds like that but not as loud.

I have a recording of the exhaust running straight out of the cat but cant seem to up load it to the post.
