Does anybody know how to get the air bag module out of an el. There seems to a hidden bolt that I can't get to. My brake pedal fell off and I need to remove the air bag module to put the clip back on that end of the rod that the pedal pivets on.

Gotta take the dash off and tilt it forward.

There is a bolt in the middle of the module up against the firewall. Only way to get to it is to move the dash out of the way.

You could try get it out with a smallish extension and ratchet, but is stupidly difficult to get back on.

Have fun.

You could try to tap the shaft back in position - only thing is I don't think you'll have enough swing area on the LH side - the shaft is a reasonably tight fit, being splined. If you succeeded, you could then drill a hole and split pin the shaft where it enters the LH pedal box sheetmetal.
Otherwise, as mentioned, the dash needs to be pulled back around 30 cms or so.
Best to think of any other mods you could do at the same time - manual pedalbox, extra wiring, etc.

Thanks fellas, I think I'll take the dash out and paint it while I'm at it. I like the split pin idea, so I'll probably do that to make sure it never comes out again.
