You need a harmonic puller kit mate, you can buy a cheapy for around $20 that'll do the job.

Yep, get a puller first.
Then crank the bolt in the middle and take it out 1/2 way. Put the puller on and pull the balancer back until it is at the bolt, then back the bolt off a little further and repeat. Continue until the bolt is out and you should be able to pull the balancer off with your hands (it will fall off if your lucky).

Yes - usually less than $30 - unless you make your own No - no other way of getting it off. |

Pulley kit, yes. But if you only need to pull the pully of just to do a seal or something, its worth getting a mobile mechanic out. For $55.00 i had a guy come out and take the pully out, take the timing cover off, take out the broken peice of timing chain tensioner that i broke when doing the head (and it bloody dropped down,) and then he put it back together. 1 hour, $55.00. At least that way, someones there to give you a hand.
P.S. It took an hour because i had alredy ripped everything off and it was ready to go. |
