If you can start your engine, turn the LPG tanks tap off, start and run the engine until it stops, try starting it a couple of times just case it stalled and it wasn't the gas running out.
This way there will be little LPG escaping when main service line is removed, also make sure you are in a well ventilated area before you remove the line, LPG is heavier than air so it can be trapped in lower areas than where it escaped originally.(The reason why LPG workshops are not supposed to have pits etc)
