i have acquired myself a black rocker cover from an EA, i was wondering... is there an easier way to remove the paint than sanding it back? i could use a belt sander but i dont think it will work
any help would be appreciated. cheers

You will have to still scrape the paint off but will come off easier. Leave the chemical to soak for no longer than 10 minutes then scrape off or the paint will dry out and go hard.

Supercrap sells a good spray can paint stripper, Just stripped an EL Rocker clean, some areas may require multiple shots but generally will strip like a pro.

Is the metal smooth under the paint, or is it a rough casting like alloy wheels?

Metal is somewhat smooth but needs more work if you intend to polish it, better off sending it to a polisher, had alot of casting imperfections to remove also.

get a decent garbage bag and a paint stripper and blast the rocker cover in stripper and put in the garbage bag and seal it and leave it to dry
