Hey all, is there a easyer way to remove the bolts holding the intake manifold to the cylinderhead? Im on the last bolt at the back on the bottom and cant seem to get in there very well.

no it's pretty much just a pain.
though a selection of 1/4 drive sockets and extensions will help |

stubby rachet spanners and a good 1/4 drive set for the win. also pull the lower half of the airbox out so you can get your arm up under the manifold. a useful tactic is to leave 2 of the top bolts (the easiest ones to get at) tight until you get all the others out, ie to support the weight of the manifold.

Do you have the top half of the inlet man off. i found it still difficult, but easier will the manifold split.

mitch This is what I did, left the easy bolts till last. Took me an hour to replace an intake gasket.

When I used to do EF heads at the shop. I bought a cheep 10 mill socket and cut the arm in half and bent it like a gun trigger. Used to slide my arm up inbetween the AC comp and thermo and just undo them. There not on to tight and the gun trigger bit meant I could get my index finger locked over it and pull them up tight.

when in dought give it a cloute my mate has this probelm and hen he gave it a hist with a a malete /small slege hammer ity fixed the problem
