I've been offered a near new set of Pacemaker extractors for my ED but they have a dent in them. The dent is large enough to restrict flow.....Is there any way to repair them? The dent is close to where they bolt onto the head.

If you think it'll affect flow, then you can fix it. You can tack on a slide hammer to the middle of the dent, apply a little heat to the dent, then pull it out with the silde hammer. It may take you a couple of go's to get it perfect or close to. Try not to heat the flange as you dont want to risk warping it.

or for lack of said slide hammer you could use a hefty piece of flat bar stock, even a small piece welded to a piece of pipe if you wanna get fancy, tack one corner to the inside of the dent and lever it back out from the outer diameter. a little bit of heat is your friend, but too much will work against you.
where you get those from ?

If its in the straight section off from the head you could also (using heat again) use a piece of round bar, or heavy pipe, of similar diameter to the extractor pipe and hammer it in through the port hole to push the dent out from the inside.
I like the first option though. |

Thankyou for the replies.
I'll go to my local wreckers yard and take a pic of the dent in the extractors.....After reading all of the responses I reckon it wouldn't be too difficult to repair them so I'll probably buy them.

another way is to fill the runner in question with water and freeze it. it takes a few goes, but i have had some success.
