Im swapping out my gearbox soon n just wondering how hard is the rear main seal todo without taking the engine out

Pretty easy to do.

Flex plate, or flywheel, off.
Pry out the old seal,
whack in the new seal.

Just make sure you DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN the crank bolts. It distorts the crank flange, and makes the new seal leak.
