You'll need a vernier cam gear which you adjust (advance/retard) to alter the cam timing.

I am happy he OP is getting good results but his bold claims are just that.

How does he think a 150kw car can beat a 250kw+ XR6Turbo which can do 5.4 second to 100 runs is beyond me. Power to weight? no.
The so called tuner he used probably just wants him to come back and get more business outa him.

Until you have lined up against one, i think you should keep those claims to yourself.

i dont think it will beat an xr6t..
but its not an impossable task. his car has 150rwkw (according to the dyno sheet) a std ba xr6t dont have 250rwkw they do at the engine..
a std ba xr6t would have about 180rwkw std..

its the xr6t's torque that will s**t over the car, 450nm from 2000 until around redline, you haven't got a chance. id love to see a rolling start as well. It would look like your standing still.

auto it won't, he didn't mention that.
manual it would for sure if it's a genuine 150, similar power-to-weight ratio as a stock BA XR6T.

yea 180rwkw min, they dont weigh that much more another 100 odd kg

over 80 is where the xr6t will kill you...not the other way round.
the 30kw's more the better torque and gears. i just don't see it!

but mate you never know, not saying your car would be slow for an n/a but yea

we have had members do 14.5's in e series xr6's with the 150wkw figures before. Cant see why it cant be done again.

Theres a lot of people here that like to jump up and down on you, but keep up the good work.

Once you have a 1/4 mile time, and MPH speed the arguement can lay to rest.

But for now, grats on the mods, and its how you enjoy it that counts.

to run a 14.5 with 150rwkw, manual. 150rwkw will see you running high 14's at the best with a BTR and 3.45's.

grubs xr6 was around the 140+ wkw mark and manual iirc. he did 14.5 on a FM event day at heathcote on a stinker of a day. The heat and heathcotes uphill run to the line not withstanding he might have gone faster, who knows.

I dont think its impossible, just difficult. a shiftkit on the auto would help, time lost on slow smooth changes hurts ET.

There is a chance, however slight that he could make that time.

not with an auto and those diff gears.
manual will smash around a 2.0 60', auto with 3.45s and stock stall will be flat out pushing a 2.3, thats approx. 6 tenths right there.
shiftkit will do f**k, thats not why autos are slower.

gear ratio's are teh problem. The BTR has a far too long 1st gear

I think the line of discussion of whether it could beat an xr6t has been exhausted.

agreed, which is why we are talking 1/4 mile times at present.

I would have expected a bit better 60' from the 3.45s, but Ive never owned a BTR and that ratio. 3.08s in BTR were doin 2.5's that day.

Id still like to see a time. For curiosities sake.
