My EA did the same thing. It has an EL XR6 engine in it with EL XR6 ecu and it has been chipped for the manual tune. Revs would also hang at around 2500rpm after I took my foot off to change gear, even if I was coasting at 60 the revs would keep changing without me moving the accelerator. I unplugged the ISC and turned up the base idle, worked fine ever since. Eventually I will put a blank gaset in there and plug it back in (just to keep everything tidy without hanging cables), but no need any time soon.

my cars got the j3 chip running in it, with a ef xr6 tickford manual tune..
I've left it for about 300km's but i can't see it fixing itself, should i buy the tuner or simply make this new gasket? |

I've had that problem before, was a factory manual EB2 wagon
I had pedal box replaced (cracked and flexing), Firewall welded (cracked), New clutch cable and fork assembly- it fixed the issue. I believe it is due to the cable clutch setup- even a god damned HT Monaro had a better clutch setup...and to think Ford used it till 2002.....disgrace. and yes, it will wear out clutch material quicker
