yep just a basic service, make sure a mechanic checks it all out, make sure spare tyre is good, if i was goin on a massive trip i would even consider taking 2 spares if i had the room.

Check your tyres, make sure there is no bubbles on the inner walls or screws into the tread - these can cause hassels when pressure builds up for long trips.
Check the spare for leaks and do pump it up if it needs it lol.
Also if by some chance a tyre goes on the trip, replace it asap; there just as much chance or more than one tyre going as just one, dont wanna get stranded! :D
Other than that just do a usual service on fluids, filters, check leads plugs n electrics like that maybe.
Safety devices like brakes, abs n air bags should be checked during the service period so that helps.
If you have worn shocks too, it might get annoying or dangerous driving for so long n far on them, depending HOW bad they are.

That should have you covered from basics..

something everyone has forgotten... check your spare tyre - no good trying to put it on when it is flat and I bet lots of your spare tyres out there are much lower than they should be!!!

Make sure your healthy and can drive for long periods of time, the rest of it can be fixed with little to no drammas.
