where can i get a replacement set of rocker bolts from? as i have broken roughly 3 of the bolts. i did a search and couldnt find an answer,

ford maybe?
or take one to a a fastner joint like coventry's fasteners and ask for some in high tensile steel

i did do them up pretty tight last time, and when undoing them i snapped a couple.
but i had some spares before, and cant seem to find any more in my shed now. so there is no full set you can buy? like the head bolt sets? |

Local wreckers is the best bet there man.
MIGHT try your luck at a bolts/fasteners store, probably won't get anything identical though.

hmm ill try a bolt place in town here, there pretty cheap and normally come up with something pretty good. will have to pick up some spares too.

Get a torque wrench while you're at it - at 20-25Nm, they won't be breaking.

got a torque wrench just dont use it, which is probably the issue. ill try around town first SWC and if i cant get any here ill get yours?

hmm id really be keen on some brand new ones that arnt stretched or anything, so i dont have to worry about breaking them.

 If you don't torque the s**t out of them they wont be stretched... What's the bet that by going all iron man on them you've pulled the aluminium threads in the head which is easy to do? Being an EF rocker cover... Good luck finding those funny looking bolts anywhere brand new... Unless you wonder down to ford and they have some NOS somewhere... Post in papa smurf's thread on here... hey i didnt know how tight they had to be, and im only knew too all of this. its a simple mistake and im learning from it.

Yes well what I am saying is... Second hand ones wont be stretched because it'd be unlikely to find a set that have been stretched beyond yield point...
Also... Do you still have usable thread left in the head? Checked it with an equivalent sized bolt to ensure bolts will still smoothly screw into it... If you have pulled them you will either need a new head or to drill and tap it and fit helicoils... Cheers, Tim

i can get the bolts out, they snapped above the head and i can remove them just havent yet.
