Rolled guards are where the inside lip of the wheel arch is rolled up into the wheel arch to allow for more clearance, usallly done when cars are lowered and wider tyres are fitted
if u put your hand under the arch and edge u can feel this lip that is rolled can be done at home with a hammer and block of woood if u are carefull Pumped guards are where the wheel arch area is physically "pumped" and made wider allow more room for wider tyres and lowering also makes the car look tough

if you wanna do it urself then you'll need multi-grips, a block of wood and a rag..
first of all, either cut or remove the plastic splash guard. then use ur multigrips to put a slight upwards bend on the lip facing in. then with you block of wood wrapped in cloth (to save the paint) use ur multigrips with one jaw on the outside of the wood and the other on the inside of the lip or the guard, crush it so the lip folds up into a vertical position (like gaz's awesome pic)

WOrked really well. I got all 4 of mine done with a guard roller 4 a carton of beer. Cheers Gav

best way is the baseball bat idea but I used different sizes of water pipe, just remeber to take your time and do it gradually.. I always use 2 people one driving/reversing and myself rolling the guard very patiently, dont press down too hard as you can get flat spots, want a nice even roll, usually takes about 4-5 forward/backwards to get where I like it.
