Have a 04 ba 6 cyl ute and when its warm -hot it idles rough ,not to the point of stalling ,but u can feel the shudder. Now ford have it 3 times and keep resetting the computer. No codes r showing. Now im using 10w/40 oil in it,and they reckon its too thick and could be causing the rough idle. They use 10w/30 oil. They did say the tps causes it sometimes and wont show up as a code. Its a manual, tehy reckon the throttle body etc are all ok.Any ideas.

usually you get a rough idle from your injectors, leads or sparkies being a bit old and worn out, but your car is pretty new so i doubt it would be any of those, worth a check though.

Using 10W40 oil wouldn't hurt it anyway. If you were towing something close to maximum allowable, I'd use Penrite 10W60.
Anyway, check for vacuum leaks, tighten inlet manifold bolts. I have seen when the manifolds weren't machined properly, ( top & bottom halves for the BBM), and this gives sh!tty idle. Does your BA have the little rubbers on top of the coils?

The rubbers were to stop the coils bouncing off the s/plugs. Apparently they had troubles with this on dirt or rough roads.
