Hey all, i know this question may have been asked a million times before. And i know there will be some people that will want to abuse me but, i would like to know what power and what time my ef gli may do with these mods:

T5 conversion
Mild crow cam
Pacie comps
Hi-flo cat with 2 1/2 inch mandrel bent redback exhaust
Pod (if it does n e thing)

would it be possible to maybe get high 14s with these mods and a good set of tyres???

cheers

Run it at the track / hop on a dyno. Those will give you the best idea.

As mentioned, go drive it and see!!

Times can vary by heaps, all depending on driver skill, engine wear, hot day, launches, etc etc

Mine ran a 15.6, then a 15.2 and will be in the 14's once i find out why the suspension is jumping up and down in 1st.

Too many variables to be talking about it with any merit

well i know that they would work but time and money are things i dont have much of at the moment.

i was just hoping that there may be some ppl with these similar mods and they may have a small idea to what my rwkw and 1/4 mile time may be

cheers

you will get into the 14s, depending on track and such. but there are a few variables, but your car has the mods to do it.

A question... is it an EA box or EBII onwards?

If its an ea t5 then youll have too invest in decent tyres or fit an LSD diff, cause wheelspin is all youll get in 1st gear.

My car would rather just bounce and shake violently instead of spinning, but thats only on the prepped track

And it pulled 138kw @ wheels with similar mods

the gearbox is an ebII onwards box. would it be a good idea to upgrade from the 3.08 diff gears also??? is there much difference/gain going from 3.08 to 3.23???

thanks

I would say fit 3.45 gears as a minimum, and LSD if you can afford it.

Ive got 3.7 in mine, and i wouldnt up anymore than that. And yes it will make a big difference in acceleration, but will rev higher on the highway.

Give the car a run dude.....remember when you read this next statement, my falcon is my daily driver and i'm not too worried about making it hammer, my other cars are the ones that i'm working on........but yea, before my manual conversion (havn't ran this at the creek, got no interest) people guestimated my car to run a high 15/low 16, based on the mods/how it seemed to feel when driving it. I ran a consistant low 17, best run of 17.115 (Not to say that your car will do this, but yea, it really shows how guess work has no relflection on anything), just run the car :P, see what it does, and then make changes.

with those mods you will get into the 14s.

if i can run mid/high 14 with similar mods of the slipperiest track in QLD (the townsville drag strip) you should be able to

but you need to look more at MPH and HP MPH is less effected by traction.

if you can run the MPH the power is there regardless of the ET is. a s**t ET only proves A: you can't drive or B: you had bugger all traction or
C: BOTH

the MPH is the main reason people put s**t the JMM DEV5 equiped cars, most of them struggle to go faster then 94MPH but claim to have 175RWKW. doesn't add up

you cant compare a dyno figure to a track time..

what everyone forgets is that a car with 145rwkw with 375nm @ 5000rpm, will rape a car that has 155rwkw with 340nm @ 5000rpm....

i can dyno at 2 different places and get 20rwkw difference.

the figure that i trust is 145 rwkw on the crescent dyno, with that reading i can pull a low 14... best so far is 14.4 @ 96mph, but i should be able to manage a 14.2 if i wasnt such a s**t launcher!

my mods a cms stage 3 cam, mild head work, headers, exhaust, air intake, everything else is std 5 speed el xr6 on standard ftr rims...
