no, cops won't care about the rwkw figure.
it'll always be considered a stock AU Forte when it comes to the power/weight restrictions.

if they can clearly tell its modified,
they can ask you the power and put it against the weight of your car

or they can canary you if they think you are lying.
its about power to weight...
give vic roads a buzz

in vic your car must be under 125kw/tonne (tonne or ton? cant remember)
and under 3.5L/tonne (spelling again)
these figures are from the flywheel kw specified by the model of car (eg. EF XR6 164kw)

thats what they said when i rang them up anyway...

thats correct (from memory)
but like i said before, doesnt matter what the stock kw is unless its not modified...
if its modified, it goes by your new kw

and how exactly are we meant to know?
are they going to force you to get it on a chassis or engine dyno?
i don't think so.
they can do u for modifications (if unroadworthy) but the power/weight is from factory specifications.

ok well 400kw with jus internals is pushing it jus a tad i think so they would be able to tell its not stock
so im guessing the thing most noticable to cops with all the normal mods would be extractors and exhaust. So unless the stupied cops can tell its 400kw where is the problem??? just because you havnt had it dyno'd  and dont know the power of the car so you carnt tell them then its jus a falcon with an exhaust right??? hehehe

Could not be more wrong, where did you hear this garbage?

This law is written in a way such that only factory power & wieght statistics, will be considered in the eye of the law. The ONLY figures enforceable are those given to the appropriate authorities by the actual manafacturer (or in some cases importer).

From vicroads website:

"The weight of a vehicle is the unladen mass specified by the manufacturer for the stock-standard vehicle (without options)"

"You can...check with the manufacturer to get engine power and vehicle weight information"

A court will never accept evidence from some random workshop that dynoed your car.

It is absolute bullsh*t that a cop could pull you over and go 'ooops this car looks/sounds extremely modified' go and get a dyno readout and weigh bridge certificate.

To answer your question, YES if by chance you do have an EF Gli for example with a massive turbo bolted onto it pumping out 400rwkw (assumiing its legal and he cant defect you :D ). There is nothing he can do in terms of fining you for driving a high powered vehicle, as the law ONLY recognises the statictics provioded by the manafcaturer NOT Bazza's Tune'n'Weigh shop.

Therefore there is no issue (in terms of power/weight rule) in driving any form of Falcon not matter how modified, which is not on Vicroads high powered vehicle list.

Moved down to Tasmania like I have!

there's no power to weight ratio s**t down here.

you pay bugger all for registration, insurence, house, land rates plus the air is pure & water is free........

engineering certificates cost alot and if your pumping out 400kw you need to upgrade brakes, chassis etc etc to handle the power
