G'day just wondering if there is an easy way to work out rwkw to flywheel, also with auto transmission. I have 127rwkw and i think stock is around 105rwkw.

cheers

Yep 157kw @ motor is stock, and 105kw @ wheels seems to be common.

So behind the BTR auto i estimate 33% loss, but less loss with high HP cars

So yours would be 127kw @ wheels, and 169kw @ motor

every car is different!!!!!

there is no way to give u an exact FWKW from your RWKW figure

the condition of your tranny can affect it

as was said ^^ figure around 30% and it will be a good BASE value NOT exact

Ok cheers i have heard the loss was around that. If a XR6 has 164kw @ motor and 110-112rwkw how does mine only have 169kw? what calc did you do?

im not sure how much xr6's put out, but youve got 5kw more which is pretty good considering the xr6 has bigger cam, o/s exhaust valves & bigger fuel regulator !!

For your car's calc. i just multiplied 127kw by 1.33 (33%). If yours was a manual there would be less loss, maybe 25%

But like said, its all guessing & estimation..... theres a few factors which can change motor->wheels power loss, and even dynos vary so much.

well, look at it this way.. from claimed flywheel to rwkw there is 52kw difference ( 157 fwkw, 105 rwkw). add 52 (power lost) to 127 and you should be close. 175 would be a mx guess. with a zorst and intake setup like that you would be looking at 13+ kw easy, especially once your ECU learns in.

but its delivery that matters, not peak. which is how XRs puch outside their "peak power" weight.

Easy guesstimate at this is to convert your rwkw to hp.
The hp figure should give you a rough fwkw figure

So 127rwkw's =170hp which = 170fwkw.

Ballpark figure only.

ok, thats an alright increase i guess, can you compare other dyno sheets to each other or does it have to be compared from the same dyno

Ok iv tryed to work out something here probly dont work but yeah, If you divide 105kw into 157kw you get 1.4952. So if you multiply 1.4952 by 127kw you get 189.9kw. Does that sound alright or is it just s**t?

Because i have a dyno sheet of a AU1 XR8 with 124rwkw and they have 185fwkw, also have another sheet of a AU1 XR6 with 110rwkw and they have 164fwkw and they both equal up if you do the math.

why do u care how much fwhp u hav? its the power turning the wheels that counts

also remember just because ford claim there xr6 motor puts out 164kws doesnt mean it or many of them atleast actualy do

manufacturers are notorious for stretching the truth a little

Rough rule of thumb, what ever it makes at the wheels in HP is what it makes at the engine in KW. Seems to work for me

but that means if a standard falcon has 105rwkw it has 140rwhp, and they have more then 140kw
