YAY! It goes again :D and it goes much better, alot smoother and definatly pulls till redline, seemed to lose it a little bit when I was revving out to 6 though.. probably a little bit over advanced. My girlfriend (who has almost no interest in cars :() said it feels alot 'lighter', which is a good sign as that shows the power to weight ratio has changed :D (or something like that ;))

The most noticeable thing is how smooth it is. Idle is near perfect, after about 25kms a little idle lump developed  When I first turned the car on it was making shocking sounds for about 20 seconds then it come good and got better after working the cam in. For those that didnt know you have to work in a cam (I didnt until my new, mad mechanic told me), to do that all the you have do is keep the revs up at about 1700-2000 for a few minutes, otherwise the cam will apparently eat away at the head. I feel as though someone should have told me something such as important as that... Also remember to clean off the protective layer of gunk as that will f**k the engine too, he used petrol (2 stroke was all I had and he reckons that's fine). Lastly, make sure you put a little bit of engine oil over the cam on the shiny bits once it's in.

I'm happy with the cam and dont miss the cash. Cant wait to get the T5 and 3.45s going though  :D

I'm not going to be able to give a real in depth review or anything cause I've only had it in a few hours. I'm pretty sure the VGear is out- I dailed it in 2 and a half notchs (mark lines) Advanced. Definatly gives it something over a stock EF that's for sure. I reckon this cam's suited to anyone looking for a bit of a booster over the stock one but doesnt want to compromise on anything -driveability, realiability, fuel economy, etc. Which is kinda what I was looking for so it wasnt nessesary to tune the ECU and get headwork. The Stg2 CMS cam is such that Ford should have given it to all the E-Series. It's a very nice replacement for the stock one. If you're looking for a lumpy, fuel eatting, power pooing cam, this is not the cam for you, or at least not just the cam by itself.

End result = :) although I'll never be  until there's a nice shiny intercooler sticking out the bottom, but that's just me. ;)

Anyway, a MASSSSSSSIVE thanks to EVERYONE who contributed to this thread and helped me out over the past 3(!!) days. $50 will be on it's way to FordMods soon so you's can all enjoy an extra cake and a few drinks at your next meet. :)

Cheers Guys!

yeah i just fitted a new cam today and was dreading playing with the tensioner, as the last few cam swaps ive tied rope to the cam gear to keep the tension on it, but had sprung out this time.

So i reset the tensioner and started the car and heard nothing but chain slap  .... then after a few minutes it was ok, i assume the oil pressure fixed things

Yeah although a cam change it relatively simple there are a couple of things that you can eaily get hung up on, LIKE SNAPPING A FKING BOLT IN THE HEAD  lol

That's a good little trick, the old rope through the latch except if ya gotta replace the Gear :?
Glad to hear it went alright for ya though. I would like to have a bit of a chat about your thoughts on the cams you've had and whatnot but feel it might be best if left for another thread ;)

Thanks again for your help FordFairmont :)
