gday all
just brought a EB S pack falcon
after selling my EBII falcon with numerous mods, im sad to say this car handels quite a bit better
apart from 16' tyres and being manual, it is totaly stock.
not only this but this poor girl has had the life thrashed out of her
clunks rattles only has 1,2 and 5th gear basically she is screwed.
i was just wondering
was there like a suspention package for these early fords?
i was told they didnt changeanytihng like that , and that all they got was a bodykit, mag wheels a sports cluster.
but this car jus seems to drive so much harder, i think the diff ratio is fairly high
but did the change the rack and pinion ration in the s pack cus theres a U turn i can take a lot better dow
cheeres all

i had a series II EA s-pac also a manual and evrything is the same as a standard falcon to my knowledge. It had a diff ratio of 2.92 but yours should have a 3.08 the same as all eb II to ed falcons

One thing however i did get caught on was the rear control arms both upper and lower were a different length to standard one's. I replaced them with nolathane arms and when i took back the one's that didn't fit i was informed that select falcons ie S-Pac, came with different control arms.

The place i went to Coventry back then specialised in fords and were usually quite knowledgable however they had to contact nolathane to get the correct part as it isn't listed in the parts directory

hope this helps!!

the controle arm difference mite explain why it seems to steer a LOT better than my previous eb.
interesting, as im doing up another eb now with a V8 droped into it and am wondering if swapping the parts from my eb s pack whould be a handeling upgrade

cheeres again

hi
the diff arms are the same length from ea to ed..just the ea has narrower bushes..

i guess you could say that the s pac is the xr6 before it was called the xr6..
except the real xr6 has the tickford stuff..
eg eb s xr6 is a s pac with the tickford stuff..

I have seen 2 EB spac's with 3.08LSD's in them. Not 100% sure on the ratio but definately LSD

The ED XRs get different arms, same length as EL actually, and a different mounting point on the diff.
You can see the extra holes on ED XR diffs, and the control arms have a cutout on the arm (ELs have a kink in the box tube) for diff clearance because they are mounted lower.
I have a pic somewhere but I'm at work now.

You can fit EL arms to an ED XR diff using the lower mount points too, which is handy, cause from memory nolathane don't do a remanufactured ED XR arm, but they do an EL one (I have EL ones in my fairmont).

I always thought ED XR was first to have the revised upper control arm, but maybe they weren't from what you've said howsie.

I KNEW IT
the owner said it didnt have an LSD, but for some reason sometimes i swear it kicks like an LSD, why else can i continiously go around roundabouts sideways?

they are usually fairly easy to flick sideways my EA had a borg-warner LSD in it and it never worked, but roundabouts were always fun :)
