nv isnt coming here to get road safety lessons.
Is anyone coming here to get road safety lessons?(!)
s**t, he wants to do up his car,,i say lets help him.
weve all had prangs, and we all learn, except those who die
of course.(this post is not meant to denigrate the dead btw).
Nv will build a car, and he will prang it, a couple of times probably.
big deal.
It sounds like he already has. my money is on him being an excellent driver already.
if people want to be scaredy scaredy, i say to them:

Go to church...with your mummy.

Clearly at 15 he's experienced all there is in this world.
Good luck to him, I just hope it isn't his 'mummy' going to church for him.

youre 15. if you wanna have a fast car, get a hilux. at least that would be useful on a f**k farm.

even that would probably have too much power for u...

on a more serious note, i only know one person other than myself who has driven a 6cyl+ car below the age of 18 and not crashed.

my advice is simple. take it step by step. start on a s**t 300 dollar 4 pot, use that till it dies, move to a better 4 pot, and so on. aim to be driving a stock 6 when youre 18, then you can worry about modifying it.

Ive been driving since i was 13. i was on the roads at 14. i understand what it means to rate yourself as a driver, but seriously dude, just take a step back. the roads are a strange place...

for the record, i had about 150,000 km driving history before i regularly started driving a 6. to this day i have driven an 8 only 5 times.

sounds to me like you have been and done it all. BA XR8 @ 18 lol was your mate working since he was 9 for that did he?

I reckon a stock XF has more then enough power for you. even @ 17 my stock V8 was enough for me. And yes i have had some very close calls in that car becuase like you when i first got my P's i thought i was the best driver because i passed my test first go....

these heart warming testimonials are moving...
my bowels have moved several times as ive listened to these
tales of bravery and near death experiences.

do you guys actually thing nv is going to be careful just
because you are telling him to be?
As if you even give a s**t about nv.

Look, the mission is to Power Up The Ford.
and then, To Beat The Commodore (aka crumpledoor.)

The Commodore guys are watching these posts, and their bowels
are moving too.
Ive heard they train their test pilots from age four, so we
are behind from the start.

Let nv build a millenium falcon so he can slay the beast i reckon.

You see the difference behind a falcon and a commodore as far as drivers go is nearly every car you see smashed into a tree at 140k/h on the side of the road isn't a falcon, but a young uneducated and unexperienced driver of a commodore. As for our stories, we know nv might not listen to them, but as C**k as the guy might be the majority of us would probably want him to be around when hes 21 so he can get serious about modifying a car. I'm not saying im an experienced driver, i think i still have a lot to learn on the road. My first crash on the road taught me heaps though, and was just lucky no one got hurt or killed.

look, just because this guy has more balls at 15 than you guys do at whatever aga y'all are, it doesnt mean that you should slag him off and ridicule him.
In the US, where ford comes from btw, you can drive on the road at 15...
what im hearing is a load of people crying crocodile tears.
perhaps you guys should join the police force.there are recruiting centres everywhere, or you could just ask about recruitment next time you are dobbing someone in at the local cop shop.
Whats with all the s**t about age? 18...21..who gives a f**k?

Yeah, sure.
If he's got enough money, go for it.
Whack a turbo on his XF.
IF it happens, which I give bloody short odds it won't, let him drive on the road, with his years of paddock driving experience.
I mean, whats another dead kid, as long as we're beating commodores...

Firstly it doesnt matter if you have been in a car thats hit a cat, aqualaned into a truck then flipped 5 times and landed on the moon! Just because you have been in a crash doesnt mean that you know what to do next time, you cant control the thousands of other motorists and animals which may get in your way.

Fharkov, whats this sh*t about cop lovers? It just shows how immature you are if you are taking this approach. These people on here have been driving for years, dealt with many a police officer and know the in's and out's of modding falcons.

You seem to know a lot so please enlighten us about the following:

- What parts you require for a turbo conversion?
- How much money this will cost?
- What parts are legal/illegal for on-road use?
- How will you get it RWC?
- What needs to be done for engineers?
- How much is it roughly for it to be engineered?
- Why does it need to be engineered?
- What are insurance company polices on doing turbo conversions?
- Give me a rough estimate on what a yearly premium would be for an 18yo with a turbo falcon?
- What are common things the cops will pick you up on when you get pulled over in turbo falcon?
- What are other parts of the car must be upgraded as safety precautions?

Thats a start so if you could please answer all those questions wihtou sledging anyone it would be a start.

Also in reply to the age factor - what does it matter?

1. Most younger have less experience and dont know the lengths you must go to, to do such a big mod.
2. Insurance factor - young = mega dollars
3. Money factor - how much is an 18yo going to have/budget for this mod?

I know personally im 20 and have thorughly researched turboing my XR6 but as a uni student its just not feasible.

Im confused by your response frd xr6.
in your first paragraph, you are saying stuff that applies to any driver of any age, not just our young friend.
You are in fact implying that you yourself should stop driving..
thats a bit dumb, isnt it mate?

as for the Dog/informant/Cop lover reference, ive always found that people that try to stop other people from doing something (apart from family of course) just want to be policemen...they feel disempowered..
they are often skinny,or very obese... and eat too much macdonalds. (even the skinny ones) they also have hidden pasts which include commodore driving. This strange behaviour often coincides with erectile dysfunction.

As for the cost of turboeing a car, well..you can do a little turbo job,
a big turbo job, or a PROPER turbo job. Otherwise the thing will always
be a troublesome s**t.
The costs of course are less if you do it yourself, but for a proper job
the entire driveline must be replaced..diff.. trans...
id prep a short, tunnel bore it, deck it, O ring the thing, find hmm..
7.5 comp forged short skirt thick crown pistons...id use custom made rods...I beam (carillo) . Id use an AU block btw.

Id use an AU head too, will all the tough springs/collets etc. Then it would start to get fun with the inlet/outlet. briefly, id use tuned length runners on the exhaust side to the turbo, a nice big one. As for the inlet side id need a computer and id go bbm.
By the time Brakes were upgraded and the other bits of the driveline upgraded...id realise i should have just put a v8 in the bastard...which is exactly what ive advised our friend NV to do. (see other earlier topic)

frd xr6, youve mentioned insurance.
Ive always felt that insurance is an utter waste of money.
the cost of premiums could go to better things, like beer and visits to brothels etc. perhaps a toploader or a new clutch. (ive got a lovely bullnose for my next project)

In your last paragraph, you are saying that the only problem with Nv's age and his wish to drive on the road is an economical one. You also lament at your inability of financing a turbo project.
My Bowels twitched as i read this heart warming concern for nv's
finances, but i reckon he'll find the money..sheeiit, why dont you send him some?
I now say to you...get a v8 together....much much cheaper.

At no point, in that rambling, incoherent speech, did you touch on the subject matter.
I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul.

1. Yes i am reffering to myself, i believe i still have alot to learn on the road. Also please specify where i said NV stop driving?

2. Actually i myself and friends with modded cars have spent hundreds of dollars and many hours fixing cars that have been defected by cops for absolutely stupid reasons. What i am saying is if you dont it properly the first time you will get assraped, epa'd and defected by the TMU.

3. Insurance is a waste of money? Suppose you hit a person, car, pole, power box? Do you know how much medical costs, tac etc are? You are a retard if you dont get 3rd party insurance at minimum its $400 ffs!

4. MOST people under 21 could NOT afford the costs of properly and legally turbo'ing a car. This is at minimum $14 000+ on top of the purchase price of the car. There are many younger kids that come on here saying oh im getting this and want this, however 95% of them realise they cant afford once they find out the costs, its all a part of the learning process. Good for NV if his willing to spend $14k+ on an XF though!

5. Unlike your posts, mine has actually been useful provioding facts and advice. Whether Nv decides to take that on board is up to him. At no time did i say he couldnt or shouldnt do it, im simply telling him what his in for if he decides to go down that road.

6. When did i say i was unable to fianace a turbo project? I simply said it was unfeasable, as im currently working on building my investment portfolio, studying a double degree and working part-time in between. Thus i dont have time to focus on such a big project and instead wil purchase a car thats factory turbo next.

7. You are obviously ver narrow minded and selfconcious if you feel for no reason that you should pay out on skinny people, fat people, commodore drivers and you like to think about other peoples penises. Also if you could include a reference to this study in which you found out these interesting reults.

8. STOP posting sh*t unless it contains useful and valuable information which will contribute to this kids understanding of what processes are involved in a turbo project.

9. I wish the holidays were over so kids would stop posting crap :(
