Yeah blackjack, until you f**k up the clear coat on them. If you care about your rims you will either get them professionally repaired or just buy a new one. Sanding them gets rid of the clear coat and potentially leaves marks and obvious spots where damage was. Seen it been done and looks dodgy as all hell.

Yeah theres a different between mags and steelies. Mags are more delicate then that, you can just paint them clear coat them and be all happy. (if your a tard then ok go for it), if you want your rims painted get it done properly etc.
Just seen sme really bad home jobs describing what you did blackjack, some on nice cars some not.

Its a bit harder these days when you have machined finishes etc. He didnt specify whether he had normal, chrome or machined face. I have machined face and would NEVER touch it myself as you can see how easily you could wreck the finish by touching it with sandpaper, most of the wheels that have been home repaired that i saw were machined faces. Hence the obviousness/severity of the sanding.

Yeah, they're machined I'd imagine by the look of them. :(

Yeh, like the guys said, DON'T remove the clearcoat whatever you do. Some of the clear coat started peeling on my hotwire mags on my old xf. So i thought it might be a good idea to get a mag buffing and some mag cutting compund and take the rest off. Looked good for the 1st day or so until they got dirty. Now I can't get the dirt off. Argghhhh!

Firstly, Mr Mag is in WA. Secondly, the few quotes i've got off him he seems pretyy overpriced, i got cheaper quotes out of ian diffen and bob jane for mags. The only upside to Mr Mag is he has a large selection of mags.
