Righto topic starter.

I would like everyone to post their special secrets they have done either by force or by accident and gotten some power gains.

We know the standard bolt on gains, but it's the little things that got you those extra kilowatts.

Okay here is the big secret, don't tell anyone

SPEND MONEY

out of all the suggestions so far, premium fuel and advanced timing (sorry EF/AU/BA drivers) are the best.

The other things, may have some impact, but would each be measureable on the strip/dyno probaly not, together they may help and add a poofteenth of a bees d**k.

Performance mods don't have to be expensive.

- Bigger snorkel ($30-60 depending what and where) or $300 for like a SS Inductions one!
- high flow filter (K&N etc.) <$150
- high flow exhaust + extractors <$1000
- cam <$400

all simple, and cheap and WILL get you measureable benefits.

Bringing my personal weight down from 87kg to 70kg's, got me a 1/4 of a second off, from 0 to 100kmh. Accelerating from 120 to 121kmh, I could probably beat most of you :P
Best mod I ever did 8-)

One thing that I did notice is if you have done some mods, driving you car hard for a while, like open roads, hard accelleration improves performance cos it is learning a new pattern.

Well at least it seemed to perfom better afterwards.

I am not condoning going out an giving your car heaps.

Not so much a secret, but the MS2 is a good mod. Not many people realise you can get a fully programmable aftermarket ECU in your car for around $500 if your happy to put some work into it. Helps make the most of the other mods you got.

I do!

I also support this behaviour.

better yet get on a race track!! thats where the fun really begins.. forget ¼ mile garbage.. people who do ¼'s only are missing the point.. yeah a few runs is cool but looses its sheen once you get on a circuit..
