Okay here's my problem, I have a ef engine in my ea. I have ef. Alt,balancer, water pump, pwr steering,ac unit. And a xh tensioner as I'm using the log manifold. I have the ac unit bolted straight onto the bracket and I can't seem to get a belt to fit nice and tight? How much play should it have when tensioned ??
Cheers, Brandon |

Dayco has about a hundred 6-rib belts in a wide range of sizes in about 10mm increments, so there will definitely be one that fits whatever combination you have. The stock EF 6-cyl belt is 6PK2350 (or 20-5355) - 6 ribs, 2350mm long.
Check out http://www.dayco.com.au/products.aspx?G=910&P=1512

The EF/EL belt will be too tight - you'll struggle to get it on.

I'm trying different sizes, the 6pk2225 is too tight to fit so I'm hoping a 6pk2230 will fit

EF/EL is 6PK2370, so you won't have a hope in hell with what you're trying.
XH is either 6PK2405 or 6PK2505 - can't remember exactly - go to Supercrap and check out the belt catalogue - it will be listed, but I bet they won't have them on the shelf.

I doesn't have ac spacers so ef/el or the standard issued belts are too long so 22 series will work |

Put the spacer in and get the right belt.
Until then its trial and error. |

That was the plan haha and keep a socket set in the boot, I'll let everyone here know what size I used and what spacing, even if we have to mill something up I'll give measurements,
Cheers guys |

Krytox wrote: You need the XH belt. It sounds like its not going on correctly. Are you following this:? Is this diagram with the spacers?? If so what's the length? |

That diagram is for a EF with a BBM and standard spacers.
If you have a Log manifold and the Standard XH AC compressor. this is how you put the belt on. I've never struck any belt length issues even going from BBM to Log and using an XH tensioner, I have however installed the belt on incorrectly and had it loose - untill i realised i had installed it wrong.
