don;'t check plugs. just replace them, there cheap, it ain't worth the time not to just replace them. if there nromal ones don't run them for more than 20,000kms.

Don't do what I did and drain your 8L oil sump into a 5L container. Especially don't do that and then wander off bored because you didn't warm the oil up a bit before draining and it's coming out slowly.

Lol. Thanks again Leroy. I had my leads, the 6 that go to the engine (and spark plugs, right?) replaced not long ago. Would they of replaced the spark plugs back then? And if I'm to replace the spark plugs, how I go about doing that? I do have an EF 6 Gregory's Manual, and I plan to use that too. Just thought alot of you having your mechanical knowledge could give a hand too. Cheers.

Yes that is a Oil filter wrench, strap style. Not ideal on a Ford as there is limited access for the handle. Better of with something like these. These type fit on the end of the filter and you use a standard socket wrench and extension bar to turn it.

the strap style will work fine, thats what i use cause its what i got.
you just have to wedge ya arm up and around and make sure it grips with room to turn it.. or you could go the big flathead screwdriver thru the filter.

yeah ive got a strap style one, and i couldnt get it on properly as the car is too low to get underneath/drive up onto ramps. so i ended up just taking off the air filter box/snorkle and got to it that way. only took another few minutes

DAVE ....KUTS Ah cool, I'm Shailer Park. And yeah I was planning on going to Moss Street Autobarn to get my oil, air and oil filters. Just wasn't sure on what type oil filter to get, but I guess if K&N make one they'd be my best bet. I'm pretty sure I have a paper air filter too, who here will vouch for the extra cost of an K&N air filter?

Lots of guys on here swear by K&N air filters, and as they are reusable the extra cost would pay for itself over time.

K&N oil filters are great, and any rechargeable air filter is good IMO... they usually have a 1,000,000km warranty...
