Did it make a solid difference over the snorkel?

Just so that your aware, the BA has a big gap under the headlight that air comes up through, hence the additional snorkel.
In the E series you don't have this gap, so you dont get sweet F A in that area in terms of CAI

On the other hand Standard ef/el's have not much air gaps behind the headlight but every bit adds up! This is my piss poor attempt a few months back, using the old holesaw...lol..lol... seems to work alright...throttle response is alot better!!!!!!!!!

its sucking nothing but heat! ever felt your headlight at night in the engine bay after 20 mins of driving! your sucking in the heat there letting off and the motor/radaitors heat. Plus its right next to your radiator and steel absorbs heat quite easily especially when at a stand still, driving not to bad for us who have mandrel bent intakes.

Yeah i think a pod in the box is the best way to go with some induction piping running to the front bar. Nice work though mate, looks good

the hot radiator air connot get into the intake as the intake goes past the radiator. i get lots of flow through the 2 xr headlights, and most of the heat off the lights is projected forward and not backwards...

So what your trying to say is that, when your driving along and causing air to rush over your vehicle, that all the heat your vechile is producting is being projected forward, into this air that your car is displacing?
RIGHT!?!?! every last molecule of HOT air in the vacinaty of your intake is being sucked into your engine. some people....

so ford desighned an air intake that doesnt work?
oh and because the factory snorkel sits directly ontop of and behind the radiator makes it ok because its plastic? your a dreamer...

There is only one way to settle this argument. . .
Some people say "It's stupid, it is sucking in more hot air" I say, 'Yes, your right, it does suck in more hot air, but.. It does go the slightest bit harder and the throttle response is seriously alot better. Ive done it and they are my findings also

i love these threads
hot air or not. what fast-xr has done, fixes the the biggest problem with the factroy design. the gap between the bonnet and top radiator support. it chokes the intake. what he has done works. |
