a mate of mine has got a series 3 xr6 vct and was asking me bout shift kits! does thaht guy still have them on here and how much are they thanks!

it depends on what he wants. you can get the s5 cranked up but that means he will have some super firm shifts ALL the time, which gets a bit anoying, that cost me 300 for the service on the box and a new adjustable solenoid. Or you can pay like 4 hunge for a on/off/adjustable pressure kit, which would be real nice.

Or you can pay $10 and make your own electronic shift kit which does the same thing!

dont forget about the ramifications of the kit, more heat! might want to think about a bigger/better trans cooler, depending on the severity of the kit of course

e6 Yeah this is the theory. I think a bigger concern is the stress the kits place on universal joints and differrentials. www.shiftkits.com.au for 9PSIEB's kits.

thanks guys hes got some good kits ill have to get my mates on it!
ive got a gm s5 soleniod in my car already! would 1 of those fully adjustable kits be anyimprovement on that? cause my isnt really that good!

hey i got the elecronic shift kit and i also got the bigger trans cooler. i have not found an improvment in havin the trans cooler. maybe it helps in the long run?????

i got a shift kit from www.shiftkits.com
havnt installed it yet, but it looks easy as i just gota say devilery and and questions were done very quickly massive respecta |

tickfordghia.. so is your auto shifting firm all the time? but your not happy with how firm? maybe the s5 need to be adjusted? on the back of the solenoid ther should be like a little screw that you can adjust your pressure with.
antonyp.. the cooler will not make the kit perform any better, itll just make your box stay cooler and so it wont f**k itself easily. e6

uh so the s**t kit does what exactly???
what purpose would it serve being on a normal road car?? and will it kill the box/auto clutch real quick?? im assuming this will make the long period of time it takes for the auto to change alot less?? just help me, im stupid, i gots no idea what these kinda mods do!!!

yep on top of the main valve body. the solenoid controls the pressure of the change so yes ,it changes quicker.
