Yeah from experience with my shift kit, sometimes when you back off it dont sound like its doing the gearbox/driveline and favors. But is a hell of alot of fun. I got the fully adjustable RPD kit and damn its probably the best $50 ive spent lately (on my car). Hmmmmm if it breaks that means i get my T5 faster.

i notice a lot of people on here talking about the soft shift kit
my auto is pretty crappy, its fairly jolty between gears (it had a hard towing life) would one of these soft shift kits help alleviate this? i mean i know it can only do so much when the gearbox is pretty rooted, but will it make my changes a little 'softer/smoother' ??

the one im getting is a hard shift kit. Its a firm shift i believe.

Ive had my shiftkit on for about a month now. Made it myself fully adjustable and swicthed by a relay. Good fun. Havent had it in the wet yet, but turn it up in the dry and itl chirp the rears, ive had it chirp going from 1st to 2nd then 2nd to 3rd on a nice sunny day out for a cruise lol

Hi Gang! I'm a newbie. Great forum going on here.
Can anyone tell me how to get instructions to make and fit a smooth change mod? At 48 years I don't need the chirp (welll .....) but it seems to take 4ever to change up. Any other ideas to increase fuel economy ( without getting a pushbike). Thanks |

Thanks so you want to quicken up the shifts but not get a very harsh shift? a change in resistor values should be able to do that, or get an adjustable shift kit, and set it to low? |

mate i dunno how to make em its in the doco section but go to shiftkits.com.au and you can buy em ready to go just plug and play. ive got one and i can tell ya they are the shiznet

Or alternatively, you could support a site sponser and buy from Jay's RPD, and get a fully adjustable shiftkit.
And yes the RPD shift kits are the shiznet, they are great fun. And is far cheaper then shiftkits.com

has anyone got the diagram and resiter values for the au2 xr8 a mate wants me to make 1 up for him but from what iv read they instal difrent to a ef?

I just got a rebuilt heavy duty BTR put in with a variable solenoid that has been firmed up .... shifts beautifully ... handles manual shifting without harming the auto.
Money well spent IMHO.
