if the shock are stuffed the car will bounce like a boat up and down when you go over speed humps.
a easy way to tell is push down on the front of the car fairly hard and see if it comes straight up or keeps going up and down a few times.. usually a knocking in the front end can be either a loose wheel bearing,a worn tie rod end or the dreaded lower ball joints.. |

Sway bar bushes tend to be the cause of this sort of noise

when you replace the sway bar link or bush can just that be replaced on its own and then wheel alignment

I don't think you even need to wheel alighn it when you replace them. It's only the ones where the bar mounts to the body. You mayas well try them first as they're pretty cheap and doesn't hurt to have better ones anyway.

Go with urethane D bushes I reckon. Should notice a bit better handling. Not much more over standard rubber ones.

would a strut bar to control arm bush that looks like its starting to wear out explain the slight knocking noise in the front suspensions on rough roads eg gravel or bump or small bit of dirt road

its possible but unlikely.
Can I suggest you go to your nearest Pedders suspension store and spend $14 on a 28 point safety check. I wouldnt recommend getting them to do any work but what the pedders guys will do is identify the sus noises you have been hearing. Its the cheapest form of identifying an issue professionally IMO.

hi man if the noise is like a chattering noise it could be the swaybar link bushes if it is that it is a reasonably cheap affiar all up u will need a pack of swaybar link bushes the pack consists of 8 bushes the price can vary from $15 - $30 also check the shock is tight in the tower it sounds stupid but a friend i work with had loose strut tower bolts and it made a clunking noise and definatly do wat SHAV said its a cheap easy way to find any little noises or noks in suspension hop[e i helped sorry for the long msg

makes you wonder as when you grab the shaft that goes into the steering rack from the colum somethings a bit loose and it seems its the rack as everything else is pretty tight.
what causes the creeks while you turn the steering wheels to full lock are blue dash lights legal if you use the blue slip on lenses for the globes |
