I have got a complete lukey system on my el 6cyl. falcon even extractors which are short (2-3-1). When i installed them i noticed a huge differance (very happy). A week ago my brother got & installed a JJM race series complete system. The exctactors are very long (3-2-1) finishing under drivers seat but the system is very quiet but mine sounds like a v8 at idle.
Just wandering what is the differance & why between the 2 extractor set ups ?

from memory, and there are plenty of threads about this.
short for more low down torque but no real gain up top and vice versa..

Yeah, there are a billion posts about this, man. I got the same treatment when I first posted about it.

longer pipes will tent to produce more power at low and meduim RPM
shorter pipes tend to produce more power at MID to HIGH rpm you also need to concider pipe size and arrangment aswell |

Don't apologise, it's a fair question,
Tickford_6 got it right from SgtBourne by a nose. Without going into tuned length pipes, you've got the headers designed to give more grunt [with some top end improvement], and your brother's are designed for high revving, with maybe some bottom end improvement. One for torque and one for horsepower [dyno days]. As we used to say in the old days, one for go and one for show [in a street car]. You and your brother can now argue which one's which. Oh, BTW, I've ordered a set of shorter pipes for my EB2 and I'm not biased...I swear. LARL Paul

Does "Cherry Red" count? coz I don't want to go too fast.

The main thing you've all forgotten is at least your system is legal... I very much doubt those race series extractors are legal.

From a Ford Dealer, now there's an infallible source.
I'd rather see a vet., about the colour of any dogs parts and about my car. Paul

My gf's dad's Hyundai Excel rumbles like a V8 too, it didnt even need modding, the entire exhaust rusted itself off right from the engine
That and every other sensor in the engine has gotten blocked up, fried or water logged in such a way that it works now, but the slightest change of wind ... like Mr Burns "Invincible ey?" lol
