Hi!

I recently purchased a 2004 Falcon BA, it's in great condition in and out and I love it.

One issue I'm experiencing though- is when I turn left at low speed (little to no acceleration), there is a shuddering / vibration. I can't pinpoint where it's coming from, and it only happens when turning left.
Anything above say 10 km/h and there's no shuddering at all when turning. I took it back to the dealer, who believes it could be a power steering pressure switch problem. My understanding though is that if it were the pressure switch, it would shudder when turning both left and right.
The gentleman has ordered a pressure switch and will be swapping it over today- but I'd like to go down there with any alternative suggestions of what it could be so I can get it fixed up ASAP.

Any help would be great!

wheel bearings / front hubs

would be my guess, pretty easy to change yourself at home too
as long as you have the right sized socket to remove the hub nut

jack car up and on stands, remove front wheels,
remove the bearing cap, and then undo the nut inside ( helps if you can someone stand on brake to stop the disc turning, then remove the brake caliper and mounting bracket, slide off the rotor and hub

I did the front wheel bearings on one of my ba's this morning.
Read in numerous posts that it was going to be a drama & that I would need cold chisels, huge hammers, pullers & bearing separators etc.
So I went & spent about $150 bucks on tools to do the job.
Went back home, jacked up the car & got everything ready for a full days worth of sweat, belting & swearing.
But when I undid the hub nuts both hubs pulled off easily with my hands. I did not even have to touch them with a hammer or puller to get them off. And they were both knackered by the way.
The drivers side bearing just fell apart in my hands.
So the ones in the write-ups that need belting with a 10lb mallet and splitting the inner bearing racers with a Cold chisel must be well & truly buggered.
O" well, Fooled again by the internet, but I'm glad I was.
