Theres only a few places it can go - into oil, into combustion chamber or leak out somehere.
So its not leaking.... Any 'milky' reside on the bottom of the oil filler cap? How's it run? I would have thought if that much coolant were entering the combustion chamber the engine wouldnt be running that well.

Perform a pressure test on the radiator as well, you might be able to pin point where the coolant is going Sure you havent got water/ residue coming out the exhaust?

i your looseing that much so quick your sump would be full of water by now or you'd have one of the cleanest cylinders in the world..
mate look over the top of the motor then ge underneath,,it's going somewhere for sure. mine coolant used to go down the exhaust but i only lost the over flow tank after 8 hours driving..

Yeah very true, my guess is that its coming straight out of the exhaust. Which would mean its a head gasket or worse a damaged head.

My car was doin this the other day, Had split a hose underneath the intake manifold (EL).
This is the absolute worst place to split a hose cause you cant see or hear it until your engine has no water!!! Fill up your resevoir and run it in ya driveway for awhile and take a look if theres any water comin out, if ur losin water it will come out somewhere and the only real way to find it is by leaving it sitting somewhere running and seeing where the water comes out. Start the car and turn the aircon to full hot temp on max fan, rev it to 2000 for a few mins then get out and look at the water. Make sure u keep an eye on the temp too. When u fill it up keep the cap off the resevoir tank for awhile and if the water 'surges' back out like its pushing all the water out the top you need a new thermostat. |

Could be head, heater tap, split hose, radiator, or something similar. But if youve got no physical sign of water anywhere on the ground, in the car, or on the engine, then it tends to look like a head or gasket. But at that rate, id be thinking head.

YEP and idleing like s**t blows a bit of smoke sometimes and some sort of liquid out the exhaust sometimes

Sounds like its well and truly f**k. Im not sure on total cost (i dont have a 6 cyl) but plenty of the guys here know all about it.
Basically you need the head removed and inspected for damage, prolly decked to make sure the surface is still true. New gasket, put back together etc. Not much in the way of parts but plenty of labour involved.

It'd be over a grand EASY... I'd expect about $1500 depending on the damage to the engine internals really...
