During my BA engine conversion, i have run into a small problem. My SOHC extractors will not suit my DOHC engine.
First obvious differences are that the exhaust ports are a competely different shape. Secondly, the ports are spaced apart slightly more than the DOHC. What i am trying to decide to do is: 1) Cut the flange off my SOHC extractors and weld a DOHC flange on (which i have already). 2) Sell the SOHC extractors and buy a set of Pacemaker PH4495 headers to suit the DOHC engine. My only worry being is that the pipework will not clear the steering column on my EL. Would anyone have any side-on pictures of a set of DOHC extractors out of the car so i can compare the routing of the pipework to my SOHC extractors? |

If its any help the standard EA-EL cat section will bolt straight up to the standard BA headers to get you going until you figure out the extractor thing.

DoddEA, that would be awesome! A picture side on and from the front of the engine lookinginto the engine bay would be fantastic!
Thanks for that Dansedgli, the more i think about it the more i think that thb BA extractors will fit straight in. |

Thanks man, i just called Pacemakers head office in SA and they could 99% assure me that BA headers will clear the steering column in my EL. But if you could get a couple of foters that would be great. thanks man!

Suprises me that they'd know, as you wouldn't think clearance in an EL would be something they'd consider when making the extractors for a BA. |

I Know with my extractors, they dont "push out" all that much fron the engine anyway. So they might just be estimating lol |
