i got an ef falcon and i only got an 15.8 down the strip.
mods include - fresh rebuild, acl perkins performance kit with high comp 20 thou oversize pistons. the motor was out of a late el so i think it has one of those hybrid au head on it (its been ported, shaved and fully reconditioned). the biggest crow cam that could go with the standard computer. an au intake with a piece of 3'' from the flex pipe to the box with an in-box pod and also with the au ser 3 xr8 T intake snorkel. 6-2-1 extractors with standard cat and mandrel bent 2 1/2'' system. i even put heat wrap on the intake and top rad hose to reduce intake temps. electronic shift kit. JMM 2500rpm stall and big front mount oil cooler. its got all new injectors, coil packs, iridium platinum plugs, 10mm race leads, cam angle sensor, 02 sensor etc etc. and am just curious if thats an alright time, i think its sh*t personally, but r all those mods pointless wen the computer is still standard????? |

with the 2500rpm stallie id be thinking towards a low 15 high 14 with those mods.
what power did it make? post up your 60ft times etc.

that ones got me.. my mods 1 heavy ghia-more kilos than gli other mods listed in sig... my best on the night i went 7 runs was a wheelspinning off the line 15.2 @148kph.. best 60 foot was 2.4, with a best 660ft of 10.018.. all my runs i had wheelspin cos of the s**t hard compound tyres i used..no amount of burnout could soften the buggers.. i dont have a stally but im getting one and with decent tyres should crack the 14's no drama according to my trap and various speeds.. with the xception that i got the xr running gear i dont see to much difference from wot we got.. i only lightly ported the ticky head.. wot diff u running??... mines the 3.45 xr( factory fitted) as gaz said- give us some of the other times. 60 ft..660 ft.. 660 speed etc.. knowing these numbers can lead to more investigation details boy.......

a good nick stock ef/el with exhaust and extractors will run that time |

Being in ayr, is it humid and hot up there when you are running? and what state is the auto transmission in? they seem to get really lazy when they get hot!
I did a 15.851 in my 5 speed manual ef (345000km on the clock) original exhaust too HEHE still with the rusted out chrome tip on the end. its not a real powerful rig either with 117.7 RWKW. but you should be able to lower the time a bit. what temps were the track and did you run at townsville or does ayr have a track? sam

how sit feel to drive,
when you say late el motor, did you get a hybrid compatible cam? are your gearbox solinoids good? igition timing good? just some ideas to check |

sounds like u need more down loooow, get a vernier gear and advance that f**k, remember where playing with autos now, stallies help but not that much.

Myabe your timing is out, i mean by a fair bit cos when i first got my XR the timing was out by about 180 and it was so so SO SO SO s**t. I mean like so crap. So get a timing light and give it a quick check

if he didnt fiddle with his timing, it should be right... remember the ef has no distributor
 It has a cam angle sensor and a crank angle sensor.

Sometimes you'll just have a bad night when conditions arn't great, whether it be the weather or your car or your driving. Give it another go a week or two later..

Oops for some reason i thought he had a EL with the dizzy.
