whats it smell like? try getting the system flushed or at least dump the coolant out and run a fresh hose of water through the system, try again and keep any eye on it, could just be filthy old coolant, could be a head gasget, could be the trans fluid mixing, sounds like a head gasget issue if it had white all over the inside of the oil cap

simple, you can buy an additive from super cheap or "rip off co"(repco) or you can get a proper flush done at a rad specialist, your best bet would be to just empty the coolant(disconnecting the rad hose), fill with water and keep draining water through the rad, remove the thermostat and flush the engine with water, put it all back together fill with water and run the car for a while(up to temperature, so drive it somewhere, drive it home, wait for it to cool down enough and look at the water, it will probably be still a bit dirty, drop it, and flush the engine/ rad again and fill it up, if you can get the water to look fairly clean after its been driven, fill with coolant again and watch itover the next few weeks. the easiest method of course is just getting it proffessionaly checked and flushed but i like to do things myself and save money here and there

At the bottom of your radiator there should be a plastic drain screw. You can empty the radiator that way instead of loosening the lower radiator hose. To remove the screw simply use a socket with a long extension. WARNING - When you do it back up don't overtighten it

We run em for half a hour of there really bad. The chemicals they contain can eat gaskets and increase corrosion of the radiator and certain components if you run em too long
