about 2 months ago my car battery would die every night, and i took it to an auto elect. We found out the problem was the smart lock and it was draining all the power.

he disconnected it and i hadn't had any problems for a while, until the other day it wouldn't start again.
so, i jump started it and i left it for a few days to see if it would die again.

it died again, this morning i went to start it (no power what so ever, no central locking even a slight show of power when turning on. BUT, when i turned the ignition all i could hear was noise coming from the ECU. it sounds like there's a fan going nuts inside it. thats the only thing in the car that seemed to have power).

any suggestions on what the problem might be this time?
my smart lock was disconnected, but maybe it's still playing up.

any advice would be great.

well there is not a fan inside the ecu

there could be a short of some kind hence the buzzing noise

see if u can get hold of a spare ecu for your model and see what happens

I'd be talking to this "auto elec", how do you simply "disconnect" smartlock in an ef??? Its part of the bem, if you disconnect it, the car won't go at all, unless he installed a smartlock bypass module?

id be guessing if the smart lock was disabled that he did install 1

unless it was not the smart lock that was disabled
