Hey...
My missus has a carby laser and said she filled it up with oil the other day. I havent had a chance to check the level yet, but she reckons she only went over the full mark "just". Now her car is blowing blue smoke when she starts it and for a little while when first drives it when cold. Could it be from the oil being over filled or would there be something else causing it. Yeah I know there is no 4 cylinder section here, thats why Im in the 6 cylinder section. cheers for any info you can help me with. Kurt |

yup. Definately sounds like valve seals.
When excess oil burns off you get plumes of white smoke pouring out the exhaust. She probably put a really thin oil in it and that's why it's doing it after she filled it. How many k's has the engine done and how hard a life has it had? |

If over filled or too thin an oil(less than 20w-40) it wiil cause oil smoke.Either drain oil to right level(remove oil filter and drain,as it only holds half litre at most)until correct level attained.

Yeah I think she put really thin oil in - its only done 180k km. Im about to go check the level, maybe drop the sump plug out and get it down just below the full level - hopefully will help. Might even drain the whole lot and put some thick s**t in.
Thanks for the help fellas |
